Strawman

Throwing stones is easy.
Sitting in a glasshouse less so.

The future happens fast.
No doubt our strategy must adapt.
And structure follows strategy.
But changing our organization hurts.
We created it.
We sit in it.

No wonder most re-organizations are not radical enough.
Tiny steps. Half-hearted. Silos remain cemented.
And in the process, we destroy a lot of trust.

So, let’s turn it all around.
Let’s stop talking about what is wrong with our status quo.
We start with where we dream to be.
Looking out to the green field and building our target picture.
That’s our strawman.

Now everybody: Throw your stones! The friction will create the energy.
Sometimes the strawman even burns.
But when all emotions settle, ...surprise, surprise.
We end up with a quantum leap.

Our strawman is a hero!
